mikec
I'm trying to fit a new ring gear to my v8, everywhere I read says they have just fallen into place after heating them, there's no way mines doing that, tried hammers etc but still no joy. Anyone any tips or should I just keep trying?

mikec
I've just watched a similar video. Put it in the oven at 175 ish, that's what's specified in the manual. Is it really that critical to get the temp? I was a bit wary of overheating it but the oven only goes to 220 is that going to cause a problem with the steel?
