Dave09
Evening all. Last week I did the head gasket on my 200tdi and now in the morning when I start the engine it runs rough until I blip the throttle a few times then its ok. It starts straight away and when it's warmed up there's no problems. I had the head pressure tested and skimed, new set of injectors and a recon turbo. Any one had this before? western
do the glowplugs work ? are they connected ?
Dave09
Yes new glow plugs and the light comes on and goes off so I'm assuming they are working. Will get the multimeter out tomorrow and check.
TSD
I had a similar one - rough running on one cylinder for a few seconds on cold starts. Suspected head gasket - mental note to change soon. Eventually the engine locked solid one morning while cranking Didn't find any obvious problems when I stripped it, but pressure testing showed a weep from the water jacket into #1 intake port. vulcan bomber
I'd be looking at either you head gasket or your new injectors personally.
Gremlin
Mine does that after a fuel filter change until it purges the air out. Check for air leaks maybe? G
western
what happens when you crack the injector connections open, if 1 makes no change to engine note, it's a duff injector.
Dave09
Cracked off the injectors but they were all the same. I've refitted my old glow plugs and injectors and will see what it's like after work tonight.
