mikec
Hi guys I'm looking at buying a used ms. I'm a little unsure on a couple of things, firstly do all ms kits have the ability to change maps or is it something that has to be "built in" to the ecu, the second question is the same but regarding tach output? If any adults could help me out that'd be great, :0 cheers mike
Hybrid_From_Hell
Yes MS1 and MS2 have switchable MAPs for both spark and fuel etc, as std via PC Loading or can be done via external switch with ECU Mods. Same on Tacho out - see sams thread Nige
mikec
Ok cheers Nige what about lambda sensor, this kit has no lambda wiring as the guy didn't bother with it, will the be a problem or is it quite straight forward? Cheers again mike
iomlt
should be easy to through in the etra 4 wires ( 2 heaters 1 earth and 1 signal) there is a very good kit forsale all built up at the moment in the forsale section.
mikec
Ok cheers guys what about the map vs tps? Is there any advantage of either or any advantage having both? Cheers mike
Hybrid_From_Hell
They are both INPUTS to the ecu and are both needed Nige PS Lambda easy, have a lookie at the new revised website, around 50+ hours now of recoding and work, some from a grown up web chap mate HUGE amount on top from me LAmbda is connect up, as ECU will find it as remap ill have settings in, buy the Kit and then we can sort out whats what etc Nige
Hybrid_From_Hell
Whoever buys this kit can expect support from me as if just bought a new kit. Tis the way I work Theres nothing thats not going to be an easy fix, nige
FridgeFreezer
Wait wait wait! - MAP switching needs hardware modifications inside the unit. As do the other "extra" things like fan control, shift lights and whatnot. Not a problem to do, but you need to be sure of what you're buying. Also be aware that different ignition setups need modifications inside the ECU too - if it's set up for distributor and you want to use EDIS you need to make mods, likewise for a PWM idle valve. Rob_B
How much difference does it make if this is a v2.2 or v3 board? Just ask this as the OP doesn't say what board it is. May be some thing he should check.
FridgeFreezer
V3 is more robust, easier to modify for EDIS, but not so much as to be worth worrying about overly - I ran V2.2 for years and they're fine. More tricky to add PWM idle valve to a V2.2 board from memory.
