Phil
A very happy New Year, everyone. Back in June I found the headlight dipped beam fuses on my '02 110 had melted. Well, it's happened again. Surely the fuses should blow if there's a bulb or wiring fault? What could cause them to melt? Suggestions gratefully received! Phil. bleyseng
Almost certainly heat caused by arcing between the fuse blade and the female terminals in the fuse holder. Bad contact causing greater resistance and therefore heat. You need to clean or change the female terminals in the fuse holder. Could try spraying this: http://www.maplin.co.uk/contact-cleaner-4153. Probably worth disconnection battery + first and dont reconnect until it has evaporated. To prevent it occuring again use this: http://www.maplin.co.uk/contralube-770-connector-lubricant-346030 Hope it helps.
Phil
Thanks, I'll have a look at the terminals. Phil.
