Retroanaconda
That's what mine had. But so long as the connection between the dash duct and the heater box is sealed both sides of the bulkhead you'll be fine

western
AFAIK the seal stc952 or stc953 item 2 inhttp://www.numcat.ru/landrover/p/31/52982/ fits on the heater box duct then it squashes against the bulkhead with items 23 & 24 in http://www.numcat.ru/landrover/p/31/53604/ on the cab interior side between lower dash duct & bulkhead. item 23 is know by LR as a bezel
need4speed
Now that is a blanking plate that fits into bulkhead heater hole. Why i dont know
Retroanaconda
How strange. Fair enough, it's definitely a plate! The part I describe must be part of the dash duct then. A simple way of creating a lip to centre it in the hole perhaps.
western
Now that is a blanking plate that fits into bulkhead heater hole. Why i dont know might be a blanking plate for use on LHD vehicles where the heater & dash is opposite sides.

mikec
it's no for the job above, there's another plate to blank the heater hole, Is it something to do with air on being fitted?
ross_north
Having just repaired my heater box and refitted with the new STC952 seal (which does look far too big...). I thought I had managed to get it into place ok but having taken off the dashboard I noticed the rubber didn't form a good seal with the bulkhead. Having tried again and again I found the only way to get the seal to fit into place was to use some trim fix to stick the seal to the heater box. I also used much longer bolts than came out of the bottom fixing on the box in order to give me a fighting chance of getting the box into place, swapping them for smaller bolts one at a time once the box was tight. western
STC952 is correct for all inc 300tdi models see item 2 in page 624 in http://www.retroanaconda.com/landrover/parts_books/110/7_exhaust_cooling_heating_p580-666.pdf it fits on the outside of the duct which then fits in the dash hole. Mo Murphy
I changed my seal today when I changed the matrix. I glued it into place as the original was glued from the factory. I managed to get the two bottom bolts in but the top bolts would get nowhere near until I got the help of Mr Ratchet Strap. Mo
western
I must get a new seal for my heater box too, last time the heater was out the seal was just about reusable.
