dave88sw
a simple facet electric pump intended for use on carburettor fed engines would do the job well. Question is why do you want to change from the mehanical pump?
wingnut1
the vehicle is only used a few times a year so the pump diafram seems to rot .
LiamC
I had a problem with the mechanical pumps failing with hot vegetable oil, so I fitted an electric facet pump which has been fine so far.
TSD
I used a 4psi Facet 'Posi Flow' pump, as the 300tdi lift pump doesnt seem to keep up with the TGV thirst. Been on there for a couple of years (probably 25k miles) with no problems. I left the mech pump in place, with a loop of pipe from input to output, just in case it still works when the Facet packs in, and to fill the hole in the block.
