Def80
So no easy answer, I'm not bothered by size of v8 just a v8 with an auto box!
mickeyw
Well Rover ones are possibly the easiest to fit, but a number of non-Rover V8's have been fitted too. 'Jad' on here is currently fitting a Lexus 4 litre V8 into his 109" - considerably more engineering to do there! I have a Rover 3.9 and ZF-HP22 4-speed auto as fitted to Classic Range Rovers in my 90. Edit: As for what is best, that is a personal choice Edited January 23, 2013 by mickeyw
Def80
Ok we'll I will ask another way, which v8 engine and auto box is more available? And what is the easier to fit?
q-rover
Any V8 and auto combo not out of a P38. The P38 auto is ECU controlled, which is linked to the engine ECU which is linked to the BECM ECU, .... So probably a 3.9/ 4.2 +ZF out of a RRC. FridgeFreezer
Most available - anything you can pull from a RRC or Disco 1, loads of cheap rusty donor vehicles out there to chose from!
