geoffbeaumont
Has anyone ever fitted the engine out of a Merc Sprinter van in a land rover? I've hired one for the weekend, and frankly it puts the disco to shame. Goes the proverbial brown stuff off a digging implement, no turbo lag, smooth and relatively quiet. A diseasal like that could even turn me from the pure V8 path...

ciderman
I have often toyed with the idea of fitting a Diesel engine from the 300 Merc series . A strong torqey 6 cyl lump , and simple with no complacated electrics or Turbo.
