I am compleatly new to landrovers and am after some impartial advice on what potencial problems i might encounter.

The car is a 2001 5 DOOR TD4 ES WITH 980000 MILES on the clock. I have the full history including all the reciepts from new, all work having been carried out at landrover dealear ships. Being totally paranoid i really would some pointers to either set my mind ar rest or prapare me for some hefty bills. your expertise would be greatly appreceiated.

Cheers

I have the exact same Freelander and have had it for 3 years and love it. The Breather filter is very important, so I would check that even after a full service. I removed my EGR valve and replaced with a straight through one, much better. check for any weird noises, VCU, prop shaft, diff, etc. I am no mechanic and the people on here have far more knowledge than me and maybe I am lucky, but mine has been brilliant. I make sure that everything is done and then check it. By the way, mine is nearly at 130,000 miles.

Hope this helps in some way.

Phil
