clive-240 Posted February 23, 2013 Share Posted February 23, 2013 Hello everyone new to here, have a problem with my TD5 Auto Gearbox when ticking over there is a knocking noise comming from the gearbox have been and checked the fluid level and had to put about a litre in but noise is still there it sounds a bit like tapit rattle cant hear it when driving only when stopped any one got any ideas thanks Clive Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Boydie Posted March 5, 2013 Share Posted March 5, 2013 I'm thinking that the problem may be with the engine plate, it may be cracked, or worse you may have lost one of the four retaining bolts. clive-240 Posted March 18, 2013 Author Share Posted March 18, 2013 Think I might have found the problem torque converter mounting plate gave up the gohst on Friday night big style it was only replaced 8 months ago and has done just over 5000 miles now got the garage telling me all sorts of things as to why it has happened, It has done no towing or off roading, any one got any ideas as I dont.
