mikec
Ok guys this is a bit long winded but basically my new exhaust sounds like a muffled mouse with asthma. The old exhaust was standard 3.5 90 but with the main silencer replaced with straight pipe, so it just had the small back box, sounded awesome not too loud just right, so with the new engine I put the disco downpipes and y piece onto the td5 90 mid pipe/silencer and tail pipe. Tried the main silencer replacement pipe but it was just too loud, so fitted the silencer and now its too quiet. So I went sodbury yesterday and bought a silencer part number esr2312, mainly because it had the same diameter pipe as the old one, but I also thought at the time it looked smaller, however when I got it home its not, it's the same length as the td5 one but round instead of oval, now the esr2312 is "straight through the middle, as opposed to the td5 one which enters in the middle and exits off centre. So the question is (finally :0 ) will the esr2312 make a difference sound wise or should I just look for another, smaller silencer? Cheers mike
Aragorn
Is the pipe on the new one actually streight thru? The TD5 one turns back on itself internally and winds around iirc. If the one you've got is actually straight thru, it should be a bit noisier...
