Mean Green
Can someone identify what the white/purple wire coming from my fuel sender does? I have 4 wires - 2 x black, 1 x Black/Green and 1 x White/Purple The Haynes manual refers to the Black/green but not too the White? The "new" sender that I removed from another 200tdi Discovery seems to be a newer type with a 2 pin econoseal connector rather than a 3 pin round connector. How can I make the new sender work? Dave W
White/purple is normally power for the fuel pump, maybe it's not used on yours ?
Bowie69
Yep, white/purple = fuel pump normally.
Mean Green
Thanks guys. Got it sussed.. BUT.. (there is always a but!) the connections on the fuel lines are so badly corroded they are not going to split easily and I do not have the time to start changing fuel lines at the moment. So I think it is another job to add to the "to do" list
dirtyninety
Cut them off? and reconnect further up the fuel line.
