I.B.ASH
Hi. Any thoughts on these; NTC8572 front NRC4305 rear Will they fit a D90 (ex-military 1986, 200tdi, pretty much the same as this http://www.lr90.com/ that's also where I got the numbers from). I have googled the numbers, but I can only find info for them fitting a disco. The guy with the yellow d90 (in the link) seems happy with that set up, Im wondering if the numbers are correct though, also are they higher then standard height springs? I have standard height Armstrong shocks already. Thanks
Aragorn
Spring rates/info can be found here: http://rovers.red90.ca/springinfo.html 8572's are listed as 200/330lb progressive springs, which is fairly high for the front of a 90 (stock is 175, and 110's run 155/215), and they're also longer than stock so will almost certainly give a lift. 4305's are 150lb springs, which is much softer than the standard 90 rear springs (225lb) and again they're a good bit longer than stock springs. Seems a bit of a weird combination to me? Looking at the website though, the chap seems to use the forum, so perhaps he can explain the choices if he sees this thread! Mo Murphy
That's Trev's site, one of the forum techy admins and one of the founders. According to the write up,Trev has a heavy winch bumper and a winch, which accounts for the high poundage front springs. If you are hanging a similar weight off the front of yours you're likely to get a similar result. If you are not then your 90 will be nose high or tail heavy, depending on whether your glass is half full or half empty Mo
I.B.ASH
Cheers, yeah I have a heavy winch and bumper, I will also be adding a heavy (home made) steering guard once the new suspension is on. The only difference between his and my Landy is mine is a truck cab. Would standard shocks be ok with those springs? By the sounds of things those springs would raise my Landy a bit, which I wasn't really looking to do. Cheers for the comments.
Aragorn
Ideally, if you can weigh the axles you can select the optimal springs for the loading.
bluespanner
Red and white stripes all round on my old 90, seemed to work well.
