need4speed
Can the seatbox be removed independantly of the sill uprights, or do the uprights need to be unsecured from the tub at the same time? My setup had nuts/bolts going through the whole lot (seatbox / sill uprights / tub) which i dont think is correct. Can someone please confirm? steve200TDi
Hi, I believe you can't as there are two nuts/bolts holding the three parts together. When I removed my seatbox I just supported the sills at the tub end. You could fit the bolts back in loosly to support the sill in the mean time. need4speed
Like you Steve, mine just had nuts/bolts going through the 3 different assemblies. However page 759 of parts book shows bolts (10) going through seatbox from the front, while page 763 shows bolts (44) going through sill uprights from the back. This seems to suggest that they are both independant of each other, or is it just an error in the parts book?
Retroanaconda
Two nuts go through from the front of mine through the flanges on the seatbox, the front flange of the tub, and the upright of the sill itself. Same on every other vehicle of the same construction that I've seen/owned. You should be able to remove the seatbox without removing the sills and/or their uprights.
