mikec
Ok so I lazily thought all would be well welding up my new diff pan, but karma's bit me in the ass and a blob of spatter has landed on the threads for the diff filler, so anyone any idea of the thread so I can get a tap? Done a quick google but no luck as of yet. Cheers mike
mikec
Ahh think I've found it on the xeng site, 3/4 bsp
JeffR
Be bloody careful, weld spatter is very hard and may break or chip the tap. Have you tried knocking the blob off with a punch?
mikec
Tried with a n old screwdriver, its not fitted to the casing yet so if it does break shouldn't cause too many issues
landroversforever
Ahh think I've found it on the xeng site, 3/4 bsp Yeah X-Eng site says 3/4 BSP. And I can confirm they fit nicely in my axles! (fill and drain)
mikec
I thought of fitting one to the drain but doesn't it get trashed on rocks etc? Presumably the hex protrudes when fitted?
landroversforever
Mine have survived OK, they are protected by my Qt diff guards which wrap around on one side of them.
