paulnb57
Folks, Im well on with a total rebuild of a Defender 90 and have converted from 2.5 petrol and LT77 to 300tdi and R380, but I am having issues finding the correct components to make up the clutch hydraulics. I have the 550732G, 300tdi clutch master, then part number ANR2162 steel pipe from master to the bottom of the footwell, then I have the flexy hose, followed by NRC9595 steel pipe which should connect into the clutch slave, however, I have tried 2 different clutch slaves FTC5072G and FTC5202G and the steel pipe union is too small at the slave end the threaded male fitting is too small........can anyone spot where I have got it wrong?? Its driving me nuts!! As ever, thanks in advance! Paul
western
reckon you need the R380 matching parts -- pipe & slave cylinder, all the items in http://www.numcat.ru/landrover/p/31/53771/ this pipe http://www.lrseries.com/shop/product/listing/9028/2990/17/NRC9595-CLUTCH-PIPE.html
paulnb57
Ive got the parts in the diagram from 12 thu to 21, however item 21 does not fit into either slave FTC5072G or FTC5202G. I'm confused! Paul
western
Looking at the parts info again FTC3911 is the slave for a 300tdi/r380see page 330 item 10 according to the genuine LR parts book so FTC3911 & pipe NRC9595 should be your combination of parts. paulnb57
Agreed! But, Ive tried to buy FTC3911, and no- one seems to stock it.....Craddocks says use FTC5072 without the spacer plate, I've got a FTC5072 and the threaded hole below the bleed nipple is too big for the steel pipe NRC9595........... and so is FTC5202....... Craddocks advice to use FTC5072 suggests the threaded hole would still be wrong?....... AAAARRRGH! Paul
paulnb57
Unless, the clutch slaves that I have (they are both "g" spec pattern parts) are machined wrongly, it happens........dunno how I can find out without buying a Genuine Part and possibly waste even more money...........and which one to buy....... Land Rover, like Marmite - today I hate it! Paul
western
brit-car have the 3911 slave listed but it says superseded by ftc5072 http://www.brit-car.co.uk/product.php/237735/0/clutch_slave_cylinder so without me seeing both side by side 7 actually trying to screw the pipe in I don't know what else to suggest.
