subseauk
Hi During my recent electrical problems on my Def 90 i came across this item hidden in the dash area / loom wrapped in insulating tape but have no idea what it is or does. I suspect it may be a low fuel pcb but not sure. Its about 2" long and 1/2" wide Can anyone help? Thanks
SORNagain
I think you might be right. The chip looks like a LM2904 (the ST logo was the giveaway) which is an op-amp. That's the sort of thing you'd use, although there seems to be a distinct lack of anything else capable of driving a dash lamp unless it's an LED. Maybe it actually drives the gauge? Is it factory installed? Looks like a kludge....!
C18RCH
Yeah, it's for the fuel circuit..
Retroanaconda
I found one of those in my 90's dash when I swapped to the Td5 gauges a few years ago. Binned it as the Td5 speedo provides the same function.
subseauk
Cheers chaps Might do the dash upgrade once I get the £@@;: electrics on mine!!! Lost left hand lights and indicators at the minute!!! Fek!!
C18RCH
Sounds like your having the same fun as me. Got mine turning over for the first time in 2 years last week. Did a trial run of the electrics and the left hand side is completely out. Haven't looked too much into it yet but I suspect I've missed an earth somewhere.
