geoffbeaumont
That's because Canaca's servers aren't up to the job. We've got shedloads of bandwidth and storage space but hardly any processing power (so we'd never actually be able to use the bandwidth I've paid for ). Neil Marshall
That's because Canaca's servers aren't up to the job. We've got shedloads of bandwidth and storage space but hardly any processing power (so we'd never actually be able to use the bandwidth I've paid for ). Innocent question number 1: Why don't you use the same server as the other forum??
geoffbeaumont
We're currently hosted on a package I already had when we needed to get this forum up and running quickly, as that was the quickest option and (less importantly) zero cost. In theory it should be up to the job, as it's Canaca's top of the line package with ridiculous amounts of storage space and bandwidth. Unfortunately they still host it on some old PC the office junior refused to use any more (okay, I'm exagerating, but you get the idea). The current situation isn't ideal, but it'll do until we all know where we're actually headed with the forums and can make some proper plans. LR90
Geoff, we've all offered to chip in. Just shout if you need to finance moving to a new package, hosting provider or dedicated server. meantime we'll put up with the errors if you can put up with us double posting
