Shambo
Hi, i have a 1980 LWB petrol 6 with anti burst door locks (non military) on both front doors and the rear door. The ignition is the non locking type. Question: Are the barrels from the door the same as the barrel from the igniton? The part numbers have found are 395141 for the ignition http://www.lrseries.com/shop/product/listing/891/395141-LOCK-KEY-SET-FUEL-CAP-DOOR-etc.html?search=series ignition lock&page=1 395056 for a 3 barrel set http://www.lrseries.com/shop/product/listing/888/4032/1/395056-3-BARREL-LOCK-AND-KEY-SET.html 395142 for a 2 barrel set http://www.lrseries.com/shop/product/listing/892/395142-LOCK-SET-2-BARRELS-2-KEYS.html?search=395142&page=1 I was thinking can i get 2 x the 2 barrel kits and have the same keys for all 4 (if possible) or get 1 x 2 barrel and have the same key for ignition and door. All the locks need relacing as they a worn out and wont lock properly so the 4 barrels replacement is the best but i cant find a 4 barrel keyed alike set anywhere. Thanks
Gremlin
Ign key is different from the door locks on series 3's. I very much doubt you can do what you wish to do. Having a bunch of keys is sign of series ownership! G
Snagger
If it's any consolation, out 2009 Defender has a different key for the fuel cap, and I think that's normal as the key is a fair bit smaller in all dimensions, not just a different pattern, and my 109 has earlier Defender doors which have a different type key for the back door than the front, so I have three car keys on that ring (plus house keys), and another ring kept in the car with keys for the other locks! Shambo
Hi guys, i have found out it appears they are. I have ordered a set of GENUINE defender keys (2) and barrels (4) (part MTC6505) and they have been test fit in an ignition and door lock at the shop and they fit. The only difference is the cap, its a bit thicker but that does not appear to hinder the operation of the lock barrels i have been told. So hopefully when they arrive i should have locks all matched to the same key My vehicle has antiburst locks and the non steering lock ignition BTW
Snagger
Nice! Let us know how it works out when you fit them.
