Maverik
While trying to map and sort out a few electrical issues on the 110 camel, I came across this rather unhappy wire... Ran out of time last night, but will be pulling the rest of the dash off to see what further damge there may be, there seems to be at least 2 other damged wires, but other than that I can't see much... Glad i found it sooner rather than later as it could have cost be a truck... This hopfully will be the source of some very strange wiring behaviour... And slightly more worrying as my dad pointed out - the fuse didn't pop... will be checking the values of the ones in the box some what carefully now... Maverik
It turns out, its an old "injury" that wasn;t repaired properly, looks like the wire for the cigarette light AUS had totally burn out, which had took a few other wires with it, namely the headlamp supply wires... some had been "repaired" with loose black tape, but one had been missed and had obviously been shorting out to earth causing my intermittent wiper function to start when i flicked the headlights on. So fixed a few of the other mangled wires and checked the rest out as best I can. I was actualy expecting worse, having the dash off has also let me remove some other extra wireing which shouldn;t have been there. The annoying thing is, is somones attempt to find the relay problem, they've cut into all the earths with scotch connectors making local earth points everywhere... and also causing more issues in the long term...
