Henry4x4
Hi, I have just fitted a new terrafirma medium load standard height suspension kit to my landy. The car seems to weave when running along the road around 50mph, it doesn't feel like un balanced wheels can anyone give me any ideas as to wy this mite be? The only thing I have noticed looking underneath is that the front coil seats on the axle are tilted forwards meaning the shocks are not sitting straight wy would this be? Thanks for any responses in advanced! Henry
landroversforever
This is to do with the caster angle. The lift has pushed the axles down, pivoting them round the chassis end bush in the case of the front axle. This means the car looses some of its ability to self centre the steering. Castor corrected arms are the solution
Henry4x4
Hi, Thanks for the response I had read about this but I thought you only got this problem when using a lift kit? The only thought I had was that they have sent me the wrong springs but the part numbers looks correct on the box I did think they looked higher than standard when fitted obviously they will lift it a but anyway because of the medium duty. Thanks Henry
Off Road Toad
Are you sure they've supplied you with standard height springs? Medium duty standard height shouldn't lift it to the degree that it causes these problems. Also if its raised so far that the springs don't sit flat then the panhard rod will also be pulling the axle over to one side too as it goes through its arc of travel.
