Simon_CSK
Help!!. I need to hire a trailer as above to take a P38 from Oxford to my home in Glasgow. Does anybody know where I can hire a flat bed trailer with ramps to take 2.5 tonne load?? Carlisle is also an option if necessary. Thanks
jbs
Simon, I've just been onto indespensions website and they have a depot in Glasgow: http://hire.indespension.com/cgi-bin/book2.cgi?lid=glasgow You could ring them and ask If they one way hire to Glasgow from Northampton as that the nearest place for this: http://hire.indespension.com/cgi-bin/trailer.cgi?tid=CT35167T which'll be ideal for your P38 Sorry If this doesn't help It's something I thought of as a lot of car hire places do one way hire and I thought maybe the trailer hire company I've given you the links too would do the same too hth John
Retroanaconda
There's these guys at Lockerbie: http://www.southwesttrailerhire.co.uk/ I know of a couple others but they're more on the south-western side - Galloway and South Ayrshire way. Simon_CSK
JBS Indespension only do a 2700kg trailer which is no good for the P38 which comes in at 2.5 tonnes on its own but thanks. I have have also tried Mr Towbar in Troon and HSS hire who are going to get back to me tomorrow. The problem here is the weight but all suggestions greatly appreciated. Retroanaconda
There's also TH Jenkinson in Ayr, I'm not sure if they hire but they're an Ifor dealer anyhow. They've also got a place in Castle Douglas. http://www.thjenkinson.co.uk
landroversforever
Would a local trailer place give you a 'test drive'?
qwakers
you might be better off buying one and selling it when you get there. probably be cheaper and easier.
UdderlyOffroad
Anyvan.co.uk, uship.com, shiply.com With luck a transport company near you will have a truck driving home empty that they'll want to fill with your load for not much £££. Beats the hell out of hiring a trailer and then fuelling a towing vehicle there and back!
raymond90
Not sure if it's much help but if you search for trailer or trailer hire there's a company advertising hire for £50 a day based in the Scottish borders area
Mean Green
Try Fenwick Motors on the A77 just by Fenwick (funnily enough). They used to do car trailer hire but not sure if they still have them or sizes.
