Aragorn
Anyone know the torque settings for the Rear A-Frame? I've just installed it, looked in the RAVE manual and it seemed to suggest 130lb/ft for the bolts, however i've just tried tightening the two bolts that attach the A-Frame arms to the balljoint carrier to 130lbft and managed to strip the thread on one of the bolts, and i;ve probably ruined the other one too . So clearly 130lbft is rubbish. I suspect the big bolts on the chassis end will take 130lbft, but the smaller ones on the carrier will not. Does anyone know the correct figures for the three bolts on the A-Frame, ie Arms to chassis, arms to balljoint carrier, balljoint castle nut. Aragorn
Cheers, sounds a bit more sensible. Had to cut one of them off, other one undone, two new bolts on order.
Barry Furness
If the 1/2" unf bolt has 3 dashes on the head it is a grade 5 the torque setting is 74 Lbft or 100Nm if the bolt has 6 dashes on the head it is a grade 8 torque setting 104 Lbft or 141 Nm
