4x4Jago
Anyone any idea how many litres of paint is required to do a freshly primed chassis. I'm thinking of using 2 pack synthetic enamel and as its expensive want to make sure I get to the nearest litre! Cheers,Steve
Aragorn
I've just painted mine. I bought a litre each of etch, undercoat and gloss from Smith and Allen (Tractol) and applied it with a roller. Theres perhaps 200ml left of each tin.
Eightpot
Synthetic enamel is normally a 1k paint, no hardener. A litre thinned down 15% with white spirit or fast flash thinners should do the job.
Anderzander
Aragon What kind of finish did you get ?
JeffR
I used this stuff on the Disco, very very shiny though. 2.5 litre has done inside of boot floor (inc wheel arches and 1/4 panels), inner and outer surfaces of front inner wings, headlamp boxes and both footwells. Still got about half the can left - used a very cheap low pressure spray gun
Aragorn
Anderzander: Finish is reasonable, though not perfect. I used bargain basement rollers though and they seem to shed "lint" into the paint as you apply it. You should pop round for a look. Ping me a PM and we can arrange a suitable time!
