weasel_110
Hi Mike, The company is herehttp://www.transportwindows.co.uk/ And the page to enter your size herehttp://www.transportwindows.co.uk/index.php?p=ecom&sw=doormaker&productid=19 You have to enter your aperture size...make allowances for the outside trim! Bowie69
Very handy thing for many applications, campers as well as tool access etc. But on a slightly OT note, this page, BMP files on the web, ~1.1MB each, 982x1149, scaled down to 100px wide... oh dear... I thought it was loading slowly: http://www.transportwindows.co.uk/index.php?xcategory=Bonded%20windows&p=ecom
bluehaze
That is a real tidy job, well done. I was thinking about something similar for the area behind the near side rear wheel.
Snagger
That's an excellent find - I have wanted a pair of those for the back end of my 109 for some time but I had only seen single sized, over priced kits by LR specialists, and I need them to be roughly square to fit behind Defender side windows at the front of the side panels (so roughly square). weasel_110
very nice, out of interest , is that a 'full sized catflap rear door' Hi Yostumpy, yes it is, from nearly five yrs ago, here's the link.... http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=37507
RustyNissanPrairie
Hi Weasel Do you have any pics of the inside of the door/locker - specifically the seal and hinge arrangements? Do the doors have gas cylinders or any stays to keep them open? I was thinking of making my own - but its pointless at that price!
weasel_110
Now that the 'coding issue' has been resolved, this is what I was trying to post last night! Hi Rusty, Have just finished work so its a bit dull to take pics, will get on it tomorrow....You have to sort your own stays, I went for a simple mechanical one (a door of this size doesn't need 2!) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310116865217?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 If you want to fit gas struts, they suggest getting an MDF insert put inside the door when you order it, an extra tenner I think? When clamping the frame to the side panel, I should have drilled out the pop rivets holding the door to the frame, and removed the door as you cant clamp the top bit of the frame with the door in place!I will include a pic of the stay which, by chance is a perfect length I think....CheersGary Pics Frame seal Door seal, both seals mate up! Hinge Stay (there is a catch to release it when it locks in place)
bluehaze
I'm looking at a side cupboard on the rear near side for a small gas bottle. The door would be nice and cheap using your link but do they make the inside piece? Paddocks sell a terrafirma model but they are £300!!!!!!!!!!!! Any ideas? weasel_110
Bluehaze, they probably have got all the sizes you don't want! You would be better making one yourself I think or you could try these... http://www.whb.org.uk/cgi-bin/sh000001.pl?WD=track&PN=Partition_Fittings%2ehtml#a899 http://www.whb.org.uk/acatalog/JBX_Skirt_Lockers.html Or is it one of these you are thinking of? http://www.expedition-equipment.com/products/vehicle-accessories/270-side-locker-large I'm trying to convince myself that I don't want one but I'm not having much luck lol! bluehaze
Yes, the latter is the sort of thing I'm after.
