S2A109RAG
I have just purchased a 3.9 V8 to replace a tired 3.5 V8 for my RRC. It came with all of the loom's, computer and a little surprise in the form of 2 O2 Sensors..... Do I really need to to fit these to get the best out of the Motor? Or is it common practice to bypass these units somehow? Either way is no issue but some advise would be good... Thanks
Rangy35
I would stick with the O2 sensors, it does try and keep the engine running at optimum efficiency, if the sensors are still good.
Bowie69
I personally wouldn't bother, they tend to give another point of failure, the main reason for them is so they can run cats, I'm assuming you're not, so why bother. They are also VERY expensive, not your ordinary lambda probe. To remove them from the equation, you just unplug them from the loom and obtain the correct 'Tune' resistor that sits inline in the engine loom near the ECU, I forget which you need a but a quick google should find you what you need

Agreed - the motor will run better closed loop, plus their output can be used as a basic diagnostic aid to running issues.
