JimDay
Don't know where else to ask this Boring as it may sound I have made a set of side steps for my Disco1 & I used silver checker plate that I already had in the shed Is there a way of turning silver checker plate black other than painting it
Anderzander
You could have it blasted and anodised - but you might be close to the price of buying new ? Another option would be powdercoat. When done well it's very robust and gives a nice 'factory' finish.
JimDay
Never thought of powder coating was thinking of anodizing but like you say could be cheaper to buy new I found this stuff on flea bay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170751483667&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en
