Obviously running out of interesting things to fill the space! I'll type it here, rather than scan, in case Trev reports us for copyright theft. PEOPLE CAN BE SO NASTYNO NAMES, but the friendliest Land Rover Forum on the Internet" didn't do it's reputation many favours recently, when one of it's long term members was subject to a barrage of abuse and insults, on more than one thread. It was a bit of a feeding frenzy and not very pretty. The Administrator (eventually) pulled the threads, but not before at least three members decided that the forum was not really so friendly after all. Happily, these members have found a home at www.landroveraddict.com, where they can be guaranteed not to receive anything more than gentle banter and plenty of advice on running their Land Rovers. By the tone of his piece and use of descriptions like "barrage of abuse and insults" Trev's unbiased reporting really show's through. Also you wouldn't guess he had a chip on his shoulder in the way attacks the actions of 'The Administrator'. I just think he's sad, and personally I think the forum has been a better place without HBR's imput. LR4x4.com is back to what it used to be, a predominantly Land Rover tech based forum. freeagent Posted October 7, 2006 Share Posted October 7, 2006 thing is... the landrover addict forums are just dead... even though they've got a magazine backing them... theres just not enough through-traffic over there to make it interesting or worth visiting. Bigfoots article in the magazine was just pointless, trying to pad out his page because theres nowt happening on the LRA forums... its a shame, but it proves that there wasn't the market to split and keep that one going.... this place continues to grow, and improve, whist the other one is just stagnant. i agree with you steve, this place has been better without HBR's input... and her little mate. Since I've already arranged to meet a work colleague at Bunny Lane tomorrow I'll be there, you can't miss me, I'm the one with the grin enjoying myself being out and getting stuff done and enjoying my truck, rather than wasting hours on a forum being vile to people I aint ever met. If you got a problem, say it to my face, if not, wind your neck in because you obviously too narrow minded to speak to a person face to face to argue a case Go on, ban me like the others for voicing an opinion! If you say you are leaving this forum, don't come back just to add fuel to the fire. I am a fairly new to this forum and find it invaluable for technical stuff. The off topic posts are generally good quality, not just guff like a lot of other forums. There will always be some kind of b!tching and clashes of personalities but hey lets just live and let live. I thought he'd come to terms with the mass exodus whilst he collaborated with The Green one about the forum takeover. The events that happened didn't leave a terribly nice taste in my mouth but seemed to be supported by the majority and so was probably justifed. He has an account here, if he felt so strongly about it, he could have posted his support in that thread. Still I suppose it's not like Trevor to do anything out in the open is it ? Cheers Steve I haven't read the mags much lately - got a bit bored with them - I do read LRe but I get that free for marshalling a Bling, BUT if that is a quote how do you know he's on about this forum? I've not browsed here as much lately as life has been getting in the way but I didn't notice anything.I mean 'barrage of abuse and insults' he must have meant ORRP surely ? I have deleted/banned 5 -people without any consultation because they have all been only posting porn links or similar carp in the Defender forum (where all the pervs are ). No other forum member has been banned. HBR, Minivin, Dougal, et all are all full posting members. The only current control of any forum member is on Mr Wuffles, imposed by myself and approved the next day, for abuse and foul language. His restriction is his posts have to be approved before they are visible to everyone else. I think that if the moderators felt that a member will be banned, then an announcement stating the reason for it would be posted for all to read. Apart from that, I don't understand why Bigfoot has decided to possibly start a cat-fight with this website. His comments in the magazine are stupid and childish.
