Tonk
i'm currently stickin one of those 'orrible witchraft petrol v8 things into a series landy, theres a small bore water hose (about 1/4") from top of block which runs to the rad, and another which is meant to run from rad to header tank which i'll have to modify the rad and add the connector to plumb it together. if i miss this connection out and just T piece the header tank small bore hose into the one ontop of the engine will it work correctly? or am i missing summat? No, I think that should be fine. They go into the same bit of the rad on mine.
Tonk
cheers, am plannin to use a td rad, just didn't fancy drillin a hole in a new rad if not necessary
Mark90
I'll second what HoSS says. The rad in Alf was plumbed in the way you suggest with a T and it didn't cause any issues.

Dunnoi if there is equivalent on an EFI.
Tonk
you're quite correct, it is a carbed engine
Bull Bar Cowboy
T piece is OK ……………… if you have an ordinary NA rad to hand, a lot of them had a blanking plug under the small outlet to allow for the second pipe. Ian

This is the water return from the manifold for heating of said lump. yes, it is a high point & useful to bleed, but you dont want to disconnect it lest your manifold/carbs ice up. On the EFI the heat feed pipes go to a transfer block below the throttle body, for the same purpose.
