i'm currently stickin one of those 'orrible witchraft petrol v8 things into a series landy, theres a small bore water hose (about 1/4") from top of block which runs to the rad, and another which is meant to run from rad to header tank which i'll have to modify the rad and add the connector to plumb it together. if i miss this connection out and just T piece the header tank small bore hose into the one ontop of the engine will it work correctly? or am i missing summat?

No, I think that should be fine. They go into the same bit of the rad on mine.

there is no hose running from the block as fas as I know? if carb model, then a small hose, like the one you describe comes out of the front of the inlet manifold - this I believe is an air bleed; - well, you ain't gonna gat a huge amount of flow thru such a tiny tube - I have seen engines with this blocked off that presumably were running fine. Dunnoi if there is equivalent on an EFI.

This is the water return from the manifold for heating of said lump. yes, it is a high point & useful to bleed, but you dont want to disconnect it lest your manifold/carbs ice up.

On the EFI the heat feed pipes go to a transfer block below the throttle body, for the same purpose.
