tuskar
Could anyone tell me please when the r380 gearbox output shaft got the cross drilled upgrade to prevent premature wear . either an index number or year . Mine is a late 95 , with no apparent backlash. Thanks
Boydie
No idea, remove the end plate and bearing (alloy) plate and see if your gearbox shaft is worn, if its not it's a safe bet your transfer gearbox input gear has been cross drilled but if you're not certain remove it, it will slide out. If it has been cross drilled happy days, if it is'nt cross driil it and put it back in, it's as easy as that. I put a explanation on how to cross driil the gear earlier on this year. Snagger
I'm pretty sure the cross drilling started on the mid-series LT77S and that all R380s had it.
Boydie
Mine was built in 1998 and first registered in Australia in June 1999 and the gear had been cross drilled, my mates 2 door built in 1996 was not.
