landroversforever
What are people using for storing/organising nuts/washers etc? I'm going to be doing a bulk order soon for the rebuild. I don't want to use open bins (linbin type) as they collect grinding dust other stuff, either looking at using cases, or wall mounted organisers. What are you using? does it work? JeffR
Those plastic boxes with compartments are next to bloody useless ( step on them and they shatter. I've got some soft plastic tackle boxes (came with a fishingg tackle bag....) that almost do the job, but next time I get paid (bloody weather) I will be buying something like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Clarke-CTB1000-36-Drawer-Parts-Cabinets-Metal-Tool-Storage-Draw-Unit-Parts-Bin-/310830399149?pt=UK_Garage_Equipment_Tools_Tool_Boxes_Storage&hash=item485eef7ead
muddy
Lin bins in a cupboard or under a sheet or sheet of Perspex. Will.
Lewis
I have the same problem, currently I store them in some of the drawers in my bottom box, it's neat and tidy and easy to get at everything but it's an expensive storage solution My intention is to build a shallow cupboard with a louvred panel on the back internal face and on the inside of both doors which I would hook the linbins to. I don't like the idea of those metal drawer sets Jeff linked to, they seem to promote condensation and you end up with rusty fasteners (and drawers). If you are gonna mount anything to a wall be aware that when you start to fill it it's gonna get heavy fast, make sure your mountings are sufficient These rack and bin sets seem good value http://bit.ly/YVnkes
Bowie69
Was gonna say, open bins but in your cupboards.. no grinding dust then.
Rangy35
I use glass jars, you know the ones you buy when you buy your groceries, gurkens, beet root, or similar. I nail the lid from the inside to a wooden shelf or self tapper screws in a triangular format. So it's just a twist to remove or replace and it's see through easy to spot what you are after. Bowie69
Put a couple of kitchen cupboard runners and drawer in the bottom of one of your cupboards, fill with appropriate sized bins and nuts/bolts. Plonk a shelf on top and you won't lose much space at all.

Boris113
I'd be interested to see what you decide to do on this one, I'm looking at doing something similar but have run out of space on the walls. The current plan is to make a large draw that slides in under the top of the workbench, then throw a load of linbins into it so they can be removed and carried around if required. landroversforever
I went for one of these in the end as I was ordering some other bits from amazon. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0001JZYAG/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Draws are the softer kind of plastic so look like they will take any knocks. Got it stood at one end of the bench so I can move it if it gets in the way.
Lewis
Unless you buy your fixings in extra tiny quantities you are gonna need somewhere to store the other 80ish fixings out of the bag of 100 using those drawers
landroversforever
No real trouble like that Lewis, the smaller stuff came in bags of 100 but the M10/12 were packs of 10. Works a treat so far.
need4speed
I use large cleaned out jam jars like Rangey above. Labelled M4 - M12
zardos
I custom ordered my M4 - M20 4 box selection (came out to about 2000 parts as got multiple lengths spaced about every 20mm - I hate cutting bolts down) The number of each was based on size and expected quantity of use from www.orbitalfasteners.co.uk
