MECCANO
I've been wondering about this for a while, so hoping some one cna put me out of my misery. How do they fix down? From what i gather, they are bolted to the tub via a few thin metal straps from a big aluminium channel on the rear. but surely theres more to it to prevent drumming at higher speeds? Does the front clamp similar to a rag top? Im guessing they are interchangeable. Cheers Chris
Quagmire
Have you bought a wolf with no top then?
pete3000
The wolf soft top and hard top are interchangeable, but you need the expensive part. The wolf rollcage is needed to add any sort of rigidity as the hardtop is a snug fit. The spare wheel bracket pokes through either side to add to the fixing. But essentially a series of S, L and U shaped brackets and bolts are used to hold the sides in a bonded channel. M8 bolts and door hinges at the rear. The front is secured with M8 bolts with the screen rail for the soft top removed.
MECCANO
So its not a quick removal then. lol. No i havent brought anything. i was jsut wondering about the possiblity of a quickly removable grp roof as an alternative to softop. Say held on with some quick fists to the cage and over centre catches.
pete3000
Just for fun the grp roof weighs in quite heavy, it's a good 2-3 person lift. Not a 5 minute job, no.
