Baz2236
Hi I have a LR 90 1986 used to be a normally aspirated. Yesterday it failed the MOT on no sealling rubber on the fuel cap. It has a large vented 2 lug non locking cap does anyone know should there be a rubber washer on there if so where can I get one from. The looks to be a cork ring in the filler neck where the cap goes but it is slightly wasting away so I could do with replacing that if anyone know the number for it. Would this cork ring be enough for mr MOT man to pass it.
western
should be a rubber washer seal ring on the inside, AFAIK the seal ring cannot be bought seperately, so it would be a new cap. new cap here RTC4740 or STC4072 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-Defender-TDI-200-Locking-Fuel-Filler-Cap-RTC4740-STC4072-/320846480211 yours should look like mine inside

western
Mine is a larger fuel cap metal one that's the earlier cap then, http://www.paddockspares.com/nrc9572-fuel-cap-to-aa259678-vented-2-lug-non-locking.html a sheet of rubber or cork & make a gasket is the other option.
