88inchthing
Hi I have been asked by a good friend to ask on here if fuel leaking into the oil on his 2002 Disco TD5 is a known problem? He has got the idea from somewhere that it may be due to a cracked head? Should probably point out at this stage that we haven't even pulled the rocker cover of yet, he is just rather anxious to known if it's a common fault. Thanks in advance Bill
Phantom
Last one I fixed was a failed head
BogMonster
Failed head, failed injector or possibly the seals between the two leaking. Hope for the last one, as the others are effin expensive!
ejparrott
I'd go with injector seals first, as they're cheap, and if it proves not to be them, it hasn't cost much to find out it's going to be expensive. A friend had a 200 head rebuilt at a cost of £700 to cure overheating, only to discover it only needed a £100 radiator....
IanS
It's also a good idea not to drive it as there have been instances of the engine running away if the sump gets too full. Nasty......
88inchthing
Thanks for the replies.Looks like injector seals should be the first of call.
