boringol
Hi All Can anyone help with the wiring when installing Megasquirt in Disco 1. I have ECU, EDIS, fuses and relays all in waterproof container in glove box wired up as per the Megasquirt diagram. I removed the engine harness back to the CUX14 ECU but will need to sort out the starting and charging circuits. I have not removed the harness from the main engine fuse box to the under dash fuse box. I have a RAVE manual but there is no full wiring diagram to follow. Any help appreciated Nigel
Cheesy
This may be of no help but when I pulled the 4CU out of my RRC there were only two wires that needed to be connected. These were in a white connector that leads into the engine loom in the foot well under the dash, one was the fuel pump the other was switched power to the ECU. All of the charging circuits and temp gauges etc were in different looms so the only thing I had to do was put a diode in one of the alternator wires. Im not using EDIS but maybe it isnt the best idea to have that in a sealed box with the ECU, people seem to mount these in the engine bay. boringol
Thanks Cheesy When I ran back the wires going to the ecu plug and stripped them out it only left 3 wires so I think it should be fairly straight forward Nige from Megasquirt has recommended putting EDIS unit in one box an shows this on web site There was a note however in keeping the shielded VR sensor wire away from the coil pack triggers as this May be a source of interference Cheers Nigel
jonnie_r
I have a haynes manual at home, so could scan in the relevant pages later if you wanted. Just put MS on mine, but I took out the complete harness and ECU as I was fitting a 4.6 from a RR, also moved the fuel relay and load relay into the engine bay. What age is your disco as there was a change in wiring around 1995. Jon
