OilIT
Hi Whats the difference between a wolf chassis and a 'normal 90' - is it just heavier duty in some way? And what engines were these chassis designed to take? Thanks for any insight !
Guest diesel_jim
Heavier duty, yes. not sure about the thiclness of the metal, but certainly beefier. also a lot of the outriggers are tubular IIRC. there is also more re-inforcment under where the rear tub fits on (to spread the load of anything being carried in the back.) They were built with 300Tdi engines and R380 gearbox in, so same mounts as a civvy chassis. Edited October 29, 2006 by western

JST
you will need to move the engine mounts though, 300 and 200 are in different places. worth doing for the XD chassis though. where the chassis from? you sure its straight? if your not keen to go this route can i have first refusal on the chassis?
