landroversforever
Calling Range Rover Classic and Disco 1 owners.... I'm trying to trace exactly what vehicle the rear axle on my 90 came off. According to the parts lists, a 28S suffix A is either Disco or RRC. Microcat is therefore being pain as I can't narrow the parts down I need due to a lack of description. What I'd like is if people wouldn't mind looking at their rear axle numbers, and kindly share part of the VIN with me if the axle number matches. This will make my parts hunting 100x easier (removing the trial and error!!!!). So, if you've got a Disco or RRC and the rear axle is '28S.......A' then I would love to hear from you. Thanks in advance, all.
western
this page for Disco 1 rear axles shows serial umber prefixes 46S,47S,56S & 57S http://lrcat.com/#32/4/45226 the rear axle page for RRC 1986 to 1991 doesn't give any serial number prefix info, http://lrcat.com/#38/4/48419 at a guess I reckon you've got a RRC rear axle [type with both lower damper mounts facing forward, prior axles had one forward & one rearward.
