defender dinky
hi all, freelander 2001 td4, changed vented discs and pads on the front and now got a bad juddering when braking and you can feel the peddle bouncing under foot and a burning smell coming from the pads would it be to much fluid in system because of thicker discs and pads, dd
tim_roberts
The judder is most likely because the disc isn't seated properly. Also sounds like you may have a sticky piston, causing the pads to overheat. I should investigate asap.
ejparrott
There is a tolerance for the runout of discs of 0.15mm, and it should be checked every time the discs are changed and before the callipers are re fitted. If the runout is greater than this then you get a pedal that pulses as the pads are moved by the wobbling disc. Start by checking this, you may well need to remove the disc and re fit it after cleaning the faces again.
