reb78
How interchangeable are the TD5 fuel filter housings? Microcat says the following WJN101830 To (V)YA250944 WJN101900 From (V)YA250945 WJN000030 (V)YA250945 (V)3A838203 WJN500090 From (V)3A838204 My vin is 4A.... so i need WJN500090 for my disco. This has been superceded by WJN500150. This is around £200 for the Sh*tpart option and nearly £300 for genuine! On an ebay search for TD5 fuel filter housing, WJN000030 comes up at £114 and a further search finds this one a little cheaper from other online parts suppliers. WJN000030 is supposed to be for YA250945 to 3A838203. Since mine is 4A.... and the part costs a fortune, are all of these housings interchangeable? This Ad suggests WJN000030 will fit: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LANDROVER-DISCOVERY-TD5-FUEL-FILTER-HOUSING-TD5-FILTER-HEAD-WJN000030-98-04-NEW-/251779431193?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a9f393b19 (Mine doesn't have the water sensor, but my understanding was that that screwed into the filter, not the head)
Rangy35
Yep water sensor fits in the bottom of the fuel filter. Why are you looking for a new filter housing? In all honesty I never had to change a filter housing and never thought there was different ones, they all look the same to me.
reb78
Why are you looking for a new filter housing?. See my pics of the current one in post number 15 http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=93003 I want to change the bleed valve, but am worried it will disintegrate as I remove the port and/or fail to seal afterwards. Rangy35
That makes sence....I forget....no...no...I am blessed to not have to worry and cope with corrosion on that scale. As I said I can not think there is any differance.
reb78
Just to finish this one off. I bought WJN000030 LR genuine for ~£100 and it fits fine. It came with a bottom water sensor for the filter yet was cheaper than the housing without the sensor! I still have starting problems though - more details and replies about the starting issue here: http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=93003
