Laptop with GPS

Hi all,

Just out of interest looking at linkng my laptop in to my GPS unit. What software do people use for offroading and green laning as have been looking at the garming / tomtom stuff and they dont seem to do anything which includes off the beaten track forest lanes.

I run memory map. great stuff that is. it's done by the ordnance survey, so it's a direct copy of the OS maps you have, showing byways,RUPPs,footpaths etc.

I use Ozi explorer, but pretty much of a muchness though

Memory Map is what I use as well, got almost all of the 1:25000 maps as well as all of the 1:50000, along as some others. Its a lot to buy new, about £80 for each area of map. Theres a new one coming on the market soon as well called Trackexplorer, it will have all the rights of way marked on it. You can down the LT version from www.way-finder.co.uk

Yes eMule is great!!! But theres not a lot of maps on there now. I am just trying to get the missing ones.

i am sure that someone told me once that you can get these maps if you are a student and have an athens password.

You can get edina digimaps downloadable for GIS work, but they are not really pda / laptop compatible.

nope, can't see anything. Logged in from here and got nothing from memory map/o/s map/explorer map/put in a fw map numbers also etc...

I could ask a librarian at work, but been NHS I'm sure they only pay the lience for relevant health databases etc...funny that....
