Disco-Ron
In the next few weeks I will be building up my 3.9 auto. ... I need to mount two coolers behind the grill.... The only way I can see to do it is to remove the bonnet catch stays... does anyone have any pictures of how you've done it. ... I need inspiration. ... Thanks
tacr2man
I have only built with one oil cooler in front of rad , With the 3.9 i used a mocal 13 row for the engine oil . This was mounted to the two diagonal struts that go upto either side of the centre bonnet catch . With my 90 300tdi auto I used a mitsubishi engine oil cooler in the same position for the trans oil . They are more than strong enough and relatively cheap eg http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/mitsubishi-pajero-swb-oil-cooler-/271770691456?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3f46cba780 One of these would be good for the engine oil, and you could use a loop tube cooler for the trans as on range rover , mounted below across the bottom . eg http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Range-Rover-Classic-3-9-V8-Transmission-Oil-Cooler-Later-O-ring-Type-Leak-Free-/261794235629?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&fits=Model%3ARange+Rover&hash=item3cf42704ed another possible http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/discover-2-transmission-oil-cooler-not-defender-90-110-range-rover-series-/131432531149?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item1e99fd44cd HTSH
