defender 300tdi clutch gone hard

Recommended Posts

hi all. new here so here goes...

I was out in my 300tdi 90 earlier on today and called into the pub for a swift pint as I got back in it I pressed the clutch to put in gear and set off and the clutch pedal went straight to the floor and stayed there. I lifted the pedal back up and then the pedal was solid wouldn't do anything??

anybody know what the problem is?? slave cylinder or clutch itself??

thanks in advance :)

Alex

sorry if it is in the wrong section

There's a good chance you'll leave the slave push rod in the fork/housing, but as it's likely the fork that needs replacing this won't really matter. You'll need to either slide the gearbox backwards or the engine forward to be able to get at the fork for replacing; you may want to consider changing out the release bearing while you're at it.
