Tanuki Posted March 25, 2015 Share Posted March 25, 2015 Not in a Disco, but I regularly run HF/VHF radios [amateur and professional/military] in my 90TD5 Defender. What class of licence have you got? HF or VHF? and what sort of power did you have in mind? My little Yaesu FT897D runs 100 watts SSB/60-watts FM happily off the standard battery; I've got two 85A/hr batteries I can sling in the back for the PRC320 [it needs 24 Volts] and when needs arise I use a little 3.3Kw Honda generator to run the big Tadiran boxes. I am brand new to radios so to be perfectly honest I only deciphered a little bit of what you said haha. I am trying to figure out antenna and power setups right now for a basic ham unit.
