Stumpybike
Hi I've just changed my A frame fulcrum and ball joint, no problem. On replacing I've tightened up the castle nut and it's way past the split pin holes. Is this normal or is something missing, I have put the new washer on. Or is it a case of using more washers Cheers
Team Idris
It could be the taper hole is worn? Mine certainly is mine wasn't so worn I was off the hole, but it was worn enough to put an R clip through it so I can make sure it is tight on a regular basis. I can't see a washer being an issue as long as the housing isn't so close to the mount that you cannot get full flex?
vulcan bomber
I believe the wsm says tighten torque and then line the holes up for the split pin.
mmgemini
That's the way I was taught to do on both a slotted and a Castlated nut.
Anderzander
I believe the wsm says tighten torque and then line the holes up for the split pin. I think he means the pin hole is a long way down from the bottom of the nut.
