bodumatau
Hello all I am busy converting my utility to a soft top. Are there any threads (have searched but not found) that explain how to convert a back door into a side opening tailgate? And ideas, tips, do's or don'ts. Thanks

Maverik
I've got a series 2 top hatch and intending on cutting a standard door in half to get the best of both world'...
muddy
That's the future mav! I loved my hard top with split door. You can use the inner cover of a standard tailgate with its top capping to finish the door off nicely. Will.
Shutler1
I looked into doing this my self for when i put my canvas top on in the summer, but in my opinion was a better idea just to fit a normal fold down tailgate. so i bought a cheap knackered one off ebay, did it up and fitted that. Much easier.
GW8IZR
normal fold down tailgate works well with two door hinges for a side opening setup.. I might have a photo of mine somewhere ( when it was a truck cab )
