Guest
As a few of you know I am in the process of getting my 110 back on the road, after a bit of a false start down to a missing V5 the replacement has arrived today. I therefore have two questions: 1. Where can I find a realistic price guide/Value for modified Defenders? Mine is an 03 110 G4 LE with 100k on the clock and a fair spattering of modifications that comparison sights wouldn't understand but nothing that should cause an issue with a 4x4 insurance company. Being out of things for a couple of years I have no idea how much it's worth now. 2. Who is doing fair deals at the moment? it will be insured as a second car I have no, no claims (Ex company car driver) but no accidents or convictions for the over 5 years and am over 40 now. Sorry to rake up a repeated topic but just not sure who is on the button at the moment. Jason.
Lewis
I just insured for the second year with heritage who are a broker owned by norton. The actual policy is underwritten by highway iirc. I have not had occaision to make a claim but in all other aspects I have been pleased with their service. It took a few phone calls back and forth to hash out the modifications but the slight inconvenience is offset by the knowledge of knowing you are legitimately and properly insured. Like you I have no no claims to use on the 90 as its a second car, also I limited my mileage to 3000 as last year I only did ~600 miles. The policy was £182, fully comp, sdp&c. I'm 29, vehicle stored on my drive, no convictions or endorsements, one accident in 2013 (third party assumed total responsibility)
bushwhacker
Hello there. Find other 110s of similar age and spec for your base value then add on the cost of the extras . Best to ring around but I found Lancaster gave me a good price. Good luck
LiftedDisco
Try A-Plan I know that they have a scheme for modified Land Rovers - it always used to be run out of Bletchley but I think it's now being administered by Clare on 01635 874646 My D1 was with them (now changed to the in-progress RRC) as being heavily modified, 5,000 miles a year and no NCD at an agreed value with premium of £110 per year! Hope this helps
Stoatie
Speak to Tom at Annetts & Orchard, they're who I've got my RRC with. As for value I picked a number that I would be happy to sell for and they accepted it.
krissvdh
I insured my 110 with the NFU. They were bend over backwards helpful. I gave them a list of all current modifications, purchase price and expected modifications. They were pretty cheap including the fact that I too have no no claims bonus for similar reasons. The cover is comprehensive. They also have an agreed price for the 110 and photos of it and the relevant valued mods so there is no quibble. I couldn't recommend them enough. dave1607
I was previously with Lancaster with my 300tdi but couldn't get the new one on the same classic policy, so I'm now with Adrian Flux. A lot of specialist policies don't let you earn no claims, and they don't always make it obvious, so might be worth asking especially as you don't have any at the moment and could probably do with earning some.
