Eightpot
Got to fly out to lend a hand with a conversion gone wrong on someones car tomorrow (foreign mechanic done half a job installing a 3.9 into an old defender then just gave up when it got to the tricky bits!) Only just found out they have converted the manual rhd steering to power LHD, but not fitted any pipes... I'm going to see what pipes I can scrape together to get a solution but got no V8 pipes - anyone know if the V8 pump fittings are the same as a TDi?? got loads of TDi pipes. it's a Serp belted 3.9 from a disco. tacr2man
IIRC the screw in fitting for the pump pressure line is same thread , and same as ZF pump on l322 (BMW ) HTSH
FridgeFreezer
Just beware it's non-trivial to make the high-pressure line, it can build hundreds of PSI (enough to be bl**dy dangerous) and I never managed to make anything hold together even with double jubilee clips on barbed hose ends - ideally get it crimped up by a local hydraulics shop. You can use compression olive fittings onto the cut ends of the steel pipe. My latest adventure in trying to make a Defender V8 one fit a P38 V8 one, the threads were right but the angles all wrong - P38 top prepared for compression olive, Defender bottom with compression fitting / adapter attached - 3/8" hydro hose was used:
Eightpot
Yeah, I painted the side of my house with atf after trying a home made high pressure hose... If i can at least take fittings they can get a pipe made.
Bowie69
1500PSI is hard to contain (P38 type pump).
