Air Con Compressor Pulley

Mo Murphy

Recommended Posts

Well I had a bash at the td5 pulley. I removed the centre bolt and removed the cover. The pulley appeared to be held by a large circlip which I removed but the pulley won't budge off the shaft and I don't want to force it and break it.

Anyone dismantled an air con pump ?

Murphy, I'm not too sure about a Td5 (no experience) but on the 300Tdi it just pulls off along with the electric clutch, yours might be seized on, so use some WD40 and a heap of patience. For correct operation the clutch needs a .025" gap between the plates, this is adjusted by shim washers.
