Oakmaster
MY daily drive often involves fog or mist - I need Fog lamps - can DRLs work as Fog Lamps? how would you wire them?
GW8IZR
DRL - the beam pattern is wrong, the wide scatter of light will reflect back from the fog and make it harder to see where you are going.
Nigelw
Unless your daily drive is a eurobox then forget it, fog lights need to be below the fog to work, a Def bumper is a bit on the high side, other than low level lights you just get white out. tacr2man
the vast majority of modern "foglights" fitted to cars are a fashion item rather than an actual useful item . The modern headlamp with its very well controlled beam pattern has pretty much made foglamps obsolete. The only real answer to fog is radar or certain infra red sighting systems, not really suitable for use on a road going vehicle. DRLs are almost the exact opposite of what is required on a fog light .
