transmission brake warning light

Hi guys,

Does anyone know how the warning light circuit on a TD5 works? Is it triggered from an open loop or negative switched?

Also where does the wiring route to the ecu or dash?

My warning light stays on, I thought it was a faulty switch but that appears to be working, I have however noticed that when I rev the truck the light will flicker and go off for a few seconds so am figuring it must be a loose connection somewhere..

It's a switched earth. Most common place for a short is where the loom passes over the top of the transfer box or where the single wire passes through the seat box (often the grommet is found floating along the wire and the wire has rubbed through against the hole).

Do check your brake fluid level though, i think i'm right in saying that the light doubles up as the low fluid warning.
